Questions people ask before they enroll

Am I too old to start?

No. Adults start this program at every stage of life, and many are changing careers after years in retail, food service or office work. What matters is showing up and doing the work.

What does it cost, really?

$3,995 if you pay in full. If you use the payment plan, it is $250 down and then $250 a month for 16 months, for a total of $4,250. Registration, books, scrubs, supplies and the NHA CCMA exam fee are included either way. Admissions can also tell you about Affirm financing if you prefer a third-party option.

Can I work while I am in the program?

Classes run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., so you need your weekday mornings free. Many students work afternoons, evenings or weekends. The 80-hour externship at the end is scheduled during clinic hours.

Is the online part self-paced?

No. Monday through Thursday classes are live, online, with your instructor at a set time. Fridays are on campus in Gardena for hands-on lab work.

Do I need a high school diploma?

Not to enroll. The NHA does require a high school diploma or GED to sit for the CCMA certification exam, so if you do not have one yet, talk with admissions about your path before you start.

How is this different from your Medical Assistant program?

Clinical Medical Assistant focuses only on the patient side of the clinic. Our comprehensive Medical Assistant program adds administrative and billing skills for people who want front-office and back-office range. Admissions can help you decide which fits your goals.

Will I get a job after?

No school can promise that, and we will not. Our Career Services team supports you with your resume, interview practice and job search as you finish, and the externship puts you in a working clinic before you graduate.
